EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The main focus of the Workshop is on enhancing knowledge of human anatomy related to specific nerve blockades as well as safe performance of nerve blockades using ultrasound, peripheral nerve stimulator, or their combination.

After active engagement in this course the participant will be able:

  • to describe topographic anatomy and course of the nerves as well as of relevant surrounding structures.
  • to identify anatomic and sonographic landmarks of standard approaches for clinically common performed nerve blocks.
  • to list indications, contraindications and potential complications of common performed peripheral nerve blocks to explain the use and role of specific nerve blocks for surgery and postoperative pain management and rehabilitation.

This workshop is limited to 80 participants.
